A Dublino due giorni di femminismo e cinema, nuovi e vecchi film.
Il festival è giovane, ha due anni di vita, molto contenuto (poche proiezioni ma di qualità), ma davvero interessante.
Tutto il ricavato del festival va all’associazione no-profit Sasane (donne salvate dalla tratta che si occupano di altre donne in Nepal).
La mission del festival è chiara: offrire nuove alternative ai ruoli femminili stereotipati del cinema mainstream, celebrare le donne che lavorano nel cinema e spronarne altre a fare altrettanto, far conoscere storie, esperienze e sguardo delle donne in un ambiente gioioso e amicale.

Why do women rarely serve as voice-over narrators? Did the empowered ‘fast-talking dame’ die out with the screwball comedy? And is ‘The Bechdel Test’ really a good way to measure female characters’ verbal representation? This talk will consider these and other questions, looking at historical and contemporary trends in the treatment of the female voice in cinema.
